If you are interested in Body Building, losing weight or simply increasing your strength you may have used a chest expander, resistance bands or multi-gyms at one time or another.
While you can use the Bullworker like a chest expander, you can also contract the Bullworker opening a whole new set of muscles to exercise. It is this contraction that makes the Bullworker such an incredible Body Builder and is the reason why the Bullworker revolutionized the bodybuilding and martial arts industry.
The Bullworker was invented by Gert F. Kölbel. The principle on which these exercises are based is known as Isometric Contraction.
The Bullworker over the years has been used by Famous Personalities, such as:
- Arnold Schwarzenegger
- Mohamed Ali
- Bruce Lee
- Barry McGuigan
- David Prowse (the man behind the Darth Vader mask)
Gert F. Kölbels commonly accredited as the creative force behind the world famous product that came to be known as the Bullworker. In 1957 using his experience as a gymnast and bodybuilder he opened his first Gym in Germany. During the early 1960’s Gert invented the home gym exerciser Bullworker. <!--{11970450239690}--> Working on the principle of isometric's, the bullworker soon become a household brand name which was bought by millions of people worldwide over the course of the next few decades.
The Bullworker was extensively advertised in magazines, newspapers and comics during the 60's and 70's. It's profile was further raised when shown in the James Bond 007 movie Thunderball in 1965. Unfortunately Sean Connory used the bullworker incorrectly opting to use it to bash one of the movies villains over the head!
The bullworker has further been promoted by various bodybuilders and athletes. Some of the best known include Arnold Schwarzenneger, Muhammad Ali, Bruce Lee and Barry McGuigan. A German Minister of Defence even used the Bullworker in his PR. Hidden by the mask of Darth Vader in Star Wars, well known muscleman Dave Prowse trained himself and many international movie stars and sportsmen using Bullworker.
So what is Isometric Contraction?
A contraction in which a muscle exerts force but does not change in length. Isometric contractions are common in activities such as yoga, Pilates and stretching: Basically Isometric Contraction is when a muscle is actively held at a Fixed Length so the muscle is activated, but instead of being allowed to lengthen or shorten, it is held at a constant length. An example of an isometric contraction would be carrying an object in front of you. The weight of the object would be pulling downward, but your hands and arms would be opposing the motion with equal force going upwards. Since your arms are neither raising or lowering, your biceps will be isometrically contracting.
Using Bullworker you can train your body to produce a superb muscular system. Perhaps the most astonishing thing about the Bullworker System is that most of the exercises only last 6-8 seconds : and these exercise don't merely strengthen the muscles they also strengthen internal organs.
Use 70% of your strength in compressing or Using Isometric Contraction, the mentioned exercise type of the Bullworker on the Bullworker Introduction page, you are able to exercise 300 of the human bodies 500 basic muscles.
How does the Bullworker develop different body types?
The Abdominal body type (a compacted rounded shape, few muscles, and a heavy bone structure). With this type of body the Bullworker removes the fatty tissues and increases the muscle substance. Each week more and more inches are reduced around the stomach, and at the same time the chest measurements expand. Arms and legs gain power. The circulation works more easily. The upper part of the body, instead of being round, becomes V-shaped. And overall endurance is increased..
The Thoracic type (slim with light bone structure, scarcely any muscles, inclined to have a bad carriage). Bullworker exercises increase the muscles and change the shape of the body towards the athletic. A flat chest becomes deeper, more powerful. Arms and legs grow strong in a way rarely known in this type of body. The carriage, or way you walk, is improved, the result of strengthening back muscles. In addition the circulation is improved and the upper part of the body becomes V-shaped. Endurance with this type of body is also increased.
The Athletic type (slim with a good muscular system). In cases like these you can expect the maximum possible amount of success with Bullworker. Individual groups of muscles can be greatly improved and there can be great strengthening or organic power. The difference between size of chest and slimness of waist should become even greater. The chest will thrust out noticeably above the line of the stomach. Arms and legs will become more muscular and powerful, the back will become V-shaped, and endurance and resilience will be increased quite remarkably.
The remarkable thing about Isometric Contraction the Bullworker produces is how easy it is. It is extraordinary to think that a once-a-day exercise, lasting only 7 seconds, per muscle group, is enough to stimulate the growth of the muscular system.
The fact of the matter is that whether you exercise for 15 seconds, one minute, or ten minutes per muscle group the growth will probably not be greater than for an exercise lasting 7 seconds!
